Digital Colour Card

Every monitor is different and certain colours are hard to photograph, so buying yarn online can be a bit of an adventure. In hopes of easing the surprise factor, we offer a digital colour card of our Usual Suspects, hoping to use words where images fail. If yarns range from solid to variegated on a scale of 1 - 5, most of yarns fall in the 2 - 4 range.

Lead: A very dark purple, with shades of eggplant and faded ink. Knits up as a semi-solid (2) with subtle changes between tones. Can read as black when combined with other colours. Reads quite differently in merino lace than in other bases - expect a dustier tone, with more grey.

Neon: A very bright pink with shades of fuchsia, salmon and cherry. Knits up as a semi-solid (2), with the majority in shades of hot pink, with short repeats of a redder tone.

Phosphorous: A mid-tone blend of yellows, warm browns, and beiges. Knits up as a variegated yarn (4), with subtle changes between colours. The yellow tone has a good amount of green in it.

Promethium: A bright-to-dark oceanic blue-green, with shades of sapphire, turquoise and kelly green. Knits up as a semi-solid (2), with subtle changes between tones. Reads quite differently in merino lace than in other bases - expect a dustier tone, with more of a pastel tone to the lighter blues.

Rhodium: A mid-to-dark red, with shades of pink and purple. It reminds me of Victorian Valentines. Knits up as a variegated yarn (4), with short repeats in four to five tones, ranging from blood red to eggplant. Reads quite differently in merino lace than in other bases - expect a dustier tone, with a more floral feel.

Tartrazine: A very bright yellow with shades of lemon, butter and saffron. Knits up as a semi-solid, with the majority in shades of lemon with lighter and darker tones throughout.

Tungsten:  A light ivory, with shades of milky tea and caramel. Knits up as a variegated (4) with the ivory tones blending quite subtly, but the caramel standing out. This colourway has more variation from skein to skein than others. Discontinued.
